The BEST Snickerdoodles

It’s still a little crazy around here.

Between T-ball, Preschool graduation, the end of Toddler Group, and our local small-town festival, we’ve been running around like nobody’s business.

When you have busy times like these, it’s so nice to have an easy, go-to cookie that everyone loves.

And these snickerdoodles fit the bill.

(Don’t’cha just love the word snickerdoodle?  It just makes me smile to say it.)

The Recipe:

Snickerdoodles, from Hub’s Family

1 c butter, softened

1 1/2 c sugar

2 eggs

1 t vanilla

2 3/4 c flour

2 t cream of tartar

1 t baking soda

1/2 t salt

~~~~
1 T sugar
1 t cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream butter and sugar.  Add eggs and mix until incorporated.  Add the rest of the ingredients to salt.  Mix well.
In small separate bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon.  Roll dough into tablespoon size balls.  Place in bowl and coat with sugar mixture.  Place 1 inch apart on cookie sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Makes 4 dozen cookies.
The Results:
See, this was a cheater recipe.  I already knew it was absolutely perfect as is.  (Hubs makes it every couple of months, and we all just gobble them down.)  This is one of those recipes that floats around our house on random sheets of paper that get lost and rewritten and lost and rewritten, etc.  So I figured if I put it out there on the internet, we’d always know where to find it.  🙂
If you like the distinct taste of a snickerdoodle, than these will be perfect for you.  They are barely firm on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside.  (And they will disappear from your counter faster than you can imagine – or maybe that’s just at our house.)
We think they are the perfect complement to a cup of coffee in the morning, as well as an after dinner snack.  You really can’t go wrong eating them any time of day.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
(Oh, and stay tuned…I’m almost at my 200th post – and I’m thinking that calls for another give-away!)
    • Sounds great! Hey, I went to check out your blog, but it won’t let me comment… 😦 Or I’m too blind to find where to do it – which is entirely possible.
  2. These are easily one of my favorite cookies. I have no doubt that they would disappear off our counters quickly too. And I hear on being busy lately. I can barely keep up! I’m definitely making these cookies soon. I’m out of dessert in the house and quite frankly we just can’t have that!
